The struggling pink thing is bleeding. She is thrashing, kicking, screaming for help. There’s too much panic, her friends in that boat can’t tell she’s incapable of making it back on her own.

I decide to help out. I try to gently clamp onto her leg so I can tow her to the boat. But that seems to only make things worse. She lets out the loudest shriek she can and bellows my name as a warning and a plea for help. Her friends jolt into action and scramble to find weapons. Harpoons. Pistols. Flare guns. Anything. No. No, no, no, no, no. It’s not what you think.

Please. I’m sorry. This isn’t what I wanted to happen at all. Fuck.
